Google’s DeepMind co-founder says you’ll have a smart AI chief of staff in 5 years
Mustafa Suleyman, the co-founder of Google’s AI division DeepMind, predicts that AI will be accessible to all in the next five years.
He says that everyone will have their own AI-powered personal assistants that will know them, be super smart, and understand their personal history.
He also says that AI will be able to reason over your day, help you prioritize your time, and help you invent and be more creative.
He compares AI to a chief of staff, a high-level position that helps executives make better decisions. He says that AI will know your personal information, be aligned with your interests, and help you manage and process information.
He cites examples of how people are already using generative AI technologies like OpenAI’s ChatGPT to help them with various tasks, such as planning a vacation, finding an apartment, or losing weight.
He also mentions how AI can help make the jobs of healthcare workers and teachers easier, as suggested by Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft.
AI will have enormous potential to affect virtually everything we do, as stated by Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple.
AI will be a commodity that will make everyone smarter and more productive, and that it will have positive and manageable effects.
He co-authored a book titled “The Coming Wave: Technology, Power, and the Twenty-first Century’s Greatest Dilemma” that documents the development of AI.
He is now the CEO of Inflection AI, the tech startup behind an AI chatbot called Pi.
